Against my better judgement, I went out into the bitter cold for yet another planning meeting for the Two First Posts club of the American Legion.
Post 36 was represented by members Doug Andrews, Billy Cope, Joe Cetti, Michael T. Powers, and me.
Post 500 was represented by members John Parker, Brenda Pough, and Sabrina Scales.
Not a bad showing for 1630 on a Monday in the forties.
I'd like to say we made some big decisions...
but that would not be true.
Mostly, we rehashed some of the same old things - need for a container, need for installation of security cameras and televisions, need for signage outside, need for a dumpster - with no real progress on any of those.
Sigh.
There was progress on one point: someone to run the kitchen.
The folks at Betty Bombers have expressed an interest in that, apparently, and will be coming here at 11 AM tomorrow.
As glad as I am of that, I have let all know that I have other plans.
Of course, I didn't tell them those plans involved staying in my house, rather than venturing yet again into 40-degree weather.
We have another meeting of this planning committee on March 4th.
I'll hope for a little better temperatures by that date.
