...and we're off to the races!!!

When the gate opened at 5:00 PM, I was already logged in and ready, with my marked-up wish book by my side!
Yes, indeedy, this was the day for volunteers to make their choices for the upcoming Savannah Music Festival!
I certainly had nowhere else to be on this cold winter's day, that's for sure.
(smile!)
Curious what delights I have ahead?

Seven are the noon30 shows I so enjoy!
Those cut a wide swath of genres, too.

Classical: Emmet Cohen, piano...
Broadway: Simon Mulligan plays Bernstein...
Jazz Harp from Colombia: Edmar Castaneda with Andrea Tierra...
Fiddling: Darol Anger & Bruce Molsky...
Mongolian throat singing: Anda Union...
Senegalese and Mandinka: Ablaye Cissoko & Cyrille Brotto...
Afro Saxophone: Lakecia Benjamin.

Those two with links are ones I've seen before and eagerly look forward to again!

The other four shows that I grabbed are a mixed bag, too!
Taj Mahal Quintet...
Sebastian Knauer: Hollywood...
Philip Dukes & Friends IV: The Locomotive Man...
Alison Miller's Rivers In Our Veins...
plus, there are a few others I'd like to work at, but they were already full.

I must say, I really liked the sign-up that was in place for 2023.
Volunteers were only allowed to select one choice per day that February, ensuring that the usual birds wouldn't grab all the special worms right off the bat.
Last year, though, the sign-up was done as it had been in the past, but I was ready.
Still, I tried to be mindful of others and not grab all I wanted.
I've been doing this long enough to know that volunteer slots open up as folks have life changes that necessitate giving those choices back.
I've even had a few of those myself, right?
(smile!)

I'll just be patient and keep checking the site occasionally.
Maybe I'll get lucky!
Meanwhile, I have a diverse slate of events to anticipate!!!
Life is good... even on this cold day!
