let there (again) be light!

The light in the dining room burned out a couple of days ago.
Wait, let me amend that.

The outer circle of light burned out a couple of days ago.
The inner one has been dark for some time.

To access those bulbs required my moving the dining room chairs out of the way, then moving the table, then standing on the tallest tread of my stepladder while holding the back of one of those tall chairs... and I simply have not been up to the task, with everything going on with insurance and medicare and all that.

After several nights in the sunroom, I have relented on that stance.
In particular, the black-out last night changed my mind.
The electricity went out around 12:23 AM, as I was getting ready to watch those Harper boys do their thing before going to bed.
So, I went ahead to bed, as the house was dark.
Several times the power came on for a moment before crashing back out.
Georgia Power managed to get it on for good at 9:53 AM.

Time for me to replace the overhead lights in the dining room.
After moving all that furniture, I checked the pantry, knowing I had boxes for past lights.
Wonder of wonders, those weren't just boxes!!!
The two lights I needed were there, both the 16" and the 12"!!!
i thank You, God.

That means the last time I replaced these T9 Circline fluorescent bulbs, I'd had the foresight to go ahead and buy another set of replacements.
After all, I've had this light fixture in the dining room since 2008.
Four or five years ago, when the lights would have last burnt out, I probably was concerned about the store not carrying them much longer.
At least I would not have to spend money on them this time!
i thank You, God.

Now, I again have light in the dining room for my nights at home.

I had not realized how dark that space had become until it again was lit.
i thank You, God.
