devon's taking chemistry...

Not that I know him.

Well, I assume that's a male name, though I guess it could be female, too.

Wait, he did use the pronoun "he" when talking about him, so definitely male. 

So, who is he and why should I care what class he's in?

Jeff texted me about the situation today.

 

him: "What you taught at Armstrong - was it organic chemistry for nursing? We know someone that's taking that class, having to drive over an hour to get there (Central Michigan U) because no one is teaching it online. "Carbons and bullshit!" he calls it."

 

me: What I taught was a semester of inorganic chemistry, followed by a semester of organice and biochemistry. :-) The first was lots of math. The second was lots of drawing and nomenclature.

 

him: "Devon said, "I don't know what 'nomenclature' means." I told him."

 

me: He's going to get his fill of it in that class.

He had totally disliked chemistry in high school, but I may have convinced him that the teacher was at fault, not the subject matter.

I'm glad to be the chemistry guru he knows.
