... and I was paid $361.00 for my time at Levy Jewelers.
When I ran across the even listing on fb, I thought the local jewelers were doing the purchasing, so I brought some costume pieces that had belonged to Granny White.
I was mistaken on that point, though.
They were simply hosting the event at Oglethorpe Mall for National Rarities.
Those folks weren't interested at all in costume jewelry.
They weren't much interested in jewelry, for that matter.
Of the three ziploc bags I'd brought, they took four rings, a pendant, and four pieces of sterling silver.
The most surprising thing for me was how little the silver was worth.
That netted me just $25.
As for those rings, I don't even know when I might have gotten them.
Three were 10K, as well as the pendant, but one was 14K.
That was good!
I would have liked to have gotten more money, but that almost paid for the cruise I've booked for late July with Christina and her family.
That's with Margaritaville At Sea, which offers free cruises for veterans, military, first responders, and educators... like my first niece.
We'll be going for a four-night cruise on Paradise, to the Bahamas, and I am so excited to finally be going on a cruise again!
It's been twenty years since my last one... and this will be less than $500, for an ocean-view cabin on the 4th deck.
That vacation will be well worth being in line for two hours today at the mall.
(smile!)
