When I checked my 'Memories' on fb, it told me I had none for December 31 over the 18 years that I've been on that social media.
My friend for longer than that, Lynita Spivey, does this thing called "predictive text", where she starts a sentence and we finish it up.
She posted "We've just received word that..."
I completed it as "... resolutions are not being accepted for 2026."
She really liked it!
I'm serious about that, though.
As I told the party-goers on Sunday, and my stepmom Bonnie today, when asked if I was making any resolutions, my reply was "absolutely not!".
Instead, I'm focusing on the positive, which is my modus operandi anyway.
So, will there be a change?
Not if that's how I naturally roll... right?
Speaking of the positive, I let AARP buy me dinner tonight.
They done good, too!
I had four 5-buck gift cards 'bought' with my AARP points over this past year and tonight i cashed them in at Carrabbas!
My choice: Shrimp Positano, one of my favorites, with lots of garlic and with fond memories of time in that seaside town in 2012 - oh, yeah!
Totally divine!
This New Year's Eve is being spent at home, watching favorite movies!
I started with "Christmas With The Kranks", with Tim Allen in another delightful holiday movie.
Then I segued into "My Best Friend's Wedding".
Odd choice, I know, but I have to thank Ivan Shreve for talking about that movie and Julia Roberts on fb.
I do love all the songs in it, and the bad karaoke is just fabulous!!!
It certainly made this seem like a party!
And The Universe made sure I knew that was exactly what I was meant to watch, too.
Both movies had M. Emmet Walsh, in his 60's, in them.
Right place, right time!
Now, I'm going to watch one more movie: "The Sandlot".
That gives me a trio with family, romance, and baseball.
What more could I want on this festive night?
It also has some really great fireworks displays, to go along with all the fireworks that have been going off here since o'dark-thirty.
As for that cute little baby penguin, I've sent it off to family and friends, with its cheery message that the "Best is yet to come"!
We all need hope as we start a new calendar year!
Keep the faith, y'all!
(smile!)
