I swear, as soon as I saw it in the cardboard box with all the assorted pieces of jewelry, all I could think of were Amy Farrah Fowler's words.
She had reached into the jewelry bag that Sheldon had proffered as an apology, totally disgruntled that he had thought to buy her off with a bauble...
until her hand emerged with the feminine crown...
bringing her to say, "It's a tiara!!! Put it on me, put it on me!!!"...
which Penny did at once, proclaiming her to be a princess!
Yes, I felt just like that, kinda sorta.
The difference is that I am not just another princess.
Oh, no.
and now, I'm a chemist with a tiara!
I am so thrilled!!!
Wondering how I came to be in its vicinity?
Dawn threw a Swap Party, with each attendee allowed to bring up to fifteen gently-used items for others to choose as treasure.
I brought four items, so I received four clothes pins, granting me access for up to four of the things in the 'store' in the dining room.
I paid $25 for that privilege, with those funds destined for the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
Very nice premise, right?
This is the second Swap Party she's ever held, so I'm hoping she'll hold another sooner than the 15-year gap from her first one.
In addition to Dawn and Lindsay and myself, there was also a Philippine woman named Pat.
I think she may have been older than me.
Dawn is 60 and I think Lindsay is late 40's.
In this photo, that's Jennifer in the green top, with Gina of New Jersey by her side.
I've known Gina since the first "AA and AAA" time, helping Dawn and The Koz get ready for BYOP.
Who else did I know?
Oh, yes, my outlaw Bunny!
Plus, I know Lisa, the woman in the black dress in this 'fashion show' photo.
But the other three chicas?
They're Cindy, Yvette, and Kimberly, and they were most def the youngest I've seen at these women-only gatherings.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think they are all teachers, but I could be mistaken.
There was a lot of Chinese food for our banquet and I just may have had too many fortune cookies...
hahahaha!
Thanks, Dawn!!!
You are still the Hostess with the Mostest...
but I have the tiara!!!
(smile!)
