What better way to do so than in person, after such a lapse?
Having seen Sandy on Friday, I felt the need to connect with mi otra amiga.
When I asked earlier today if she'd yet seen the new documentary with Lennon, she had not, so we immediately made plans to see it together!
Very nice!
"One To One: John And Yoko" was a train wreck.
Lots of audio clips of snippets of taped phone conversations, with the words also transcribed onto the screen - like, really?
Lots of camera pans of their two-room apartment, especially of the bedroom with the television omnipresent and always on even with no one watching it.
Lots of experiences with Yoko caterwauling as John gave her solo time on stage.
And all of it was just thrown together, as if the director had a severe case of ADHD.
Honestly, it was a relief for both of us when it ended!
i thank You, God, that it was short.
Afterward, we popped over to Carey Hilliard's on Abercorn, providing a bit of deja vu for me, but I didn't mention I'd been there just a few days earlier.
(smile!)
Plenty of menu choices!
That other time I had a bowl of Brunswick Stew and an order of french fries.
This time, it was the Shrimp Salad Plate, with green beans and mac'n'cheese.
Delicious both times!
Carolyn and I talk very easily and always have, so the two hours passed quickly!
Mostly it was stories of life with her cousin Craig, but that was fine.
He's such a hoot!
I encouraged Carolyn to get together with Sandy, and I hope they will.
Maybe the three of us can have an evening soon... that would be good.
Maybe by then I'll even have a phone again that will let me send any photos of such an event to my email.
That would be great!
(smile!)
