day 33
It's 100 Days of Summer, y'all!
That's what the American Red Cross is calling this blood drive.
100 Days of Summer.
100 Days of Hope.
I encourage you to click here and find a time that works for you. You will then be a hero to three people.
1 hour of time + 1 pint of blood donated = 3 lives saved
Today was the 33rd day of the campaign.
I sandwiched my donation between errands at the school, lunch (fried chicken!) and dinner (pot roast!!) at The Galley, and an evening topped off with an old-fashioned murder mystery.
Very nice!!!
I do hope you have as wonderful a day as I have had today!

Thank you.
You gave someone hope this summer.
Calendars fill up fast – especially in the summer with ball games, family vacations and other fun activities. Thank you for choosing your day and giving blood!
Your donation is critically important, and gave someone hope this summer - someone like Hollie.
Hollie, a Red Cross blood donor, found herself on the other side of the blood bag. After experiencing complications during the birth of her daughter, Bonnie, she required multiple pints of red blood cells. The donations she received were an exceptional gift at the most physically and emotionally vulnerable time of her life, and she is thankful for donors like you!
Remember you can donate whole blood every 56 days, #ChooseYourDay again and schedule a future donation now!
Stay inspired this summer: read amazing stories and participate in promotional giveaways here.
#ChooseYourDay
This is what I posted on my fb page for my status, in the wee small hours of 27 June 2014 about my doings of June 26:
Such a lovely, busy day - and inexpensive, too! $4 for the 10 AM screening of "Despicable Me" at Carmike, then to pick up my FREE parking decal for the Fall/Spring school sessions, followed by roughly $9 for a HUGE lunch (and leftover fried chicken!) at the Galley. Then, briefly back to home before heading back southside to donate my 83rd pint of whole blood, followed by a $9 all-you-can-eat roast beef dinner at the Galley and the FREE-to-me, 7:30 pm, Armstrong Masquers Theatre Troupe's production of "And Then There Were None"!!! Fabulous day!!!!
