this little light of mine, i'm gonna let it shine!

You know the children's song, don't you?
"This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine,
Oh, this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
"
The actual song performed at this evening's concert was "Flashlight"... complete with appropriate lighting!

What concert might that be?
Why it's the summer camp concert by the Savannah Children's Choir!
Honestly, if not for my ushering at the Lucas, I might not have known about it, either.
Thanks, Haley, for signing me up for this one!
(smile!)

I certainly needed this lift today!
There were six groups, sometimes singing separately, sometimes all together, with music drawn from all time periods and genres.
There were even two pieces of original work!!! The Allegro Choir (the younger children) performed their song, "We Can Be Your Hope", then the Vivace Choir (the older ones) sang their song, "If We Let Our Voices Be Heard"!!!
Deep pieces they were, too, reminding us all that the children are listening...and are definitely part of the positive change that society, and the world, needs.

i thank You, God, for having me in the right places today.

The Savannah Children's Choir, formed in 2006, has been accepted as part of the New York City group which inspired its formation.
Henceforth, the SCC will collaborate with the Young People's Chorus National.

This group, founded in 1988 by Francisco Nunez when he was 23 years old, has taken on this national component as part of its mission to expand music into the lives of children of all walks of life.

I look forward to the new opportunities for local students!!!
